Ulrike and her guest, Amy Wong, Founder of Always On Purpose®, dive into concrete steps on how to overcome imposter syndrome. If you finally want to learn some easy-to-apply tips on how to feel whole and confident tune in now!
Imposter syndrome is a feeling of inadequacy or self-doubt despite evidence of competence and success. It affects people from all walks of life, including high-achieving professionals, students, and artists. It's often accompanied by anxiety, self-doubt, and a sense of inadequacy.
To overcome imposter syndrome you can take the following steps:
- Recognize that it's happening to everyone. Imposter syndrome is a common experience, and many successful people have gone through it. Knowing that you're not alone can help you realize that your feelings of self-doubt are normal and not a reflection of your abilities.
- Forget about "should." Imposter syndrome often arises when we compare ourselves to others and feel that we don't measure up. Instead of focusing on what you "should" be doing, try to accept yourself as you are and focus on your strengths and accomplishments.
- Let go of your beliefs. Imposter syndrome can be fueled by limiting beliefs and negative self-talk. To overcome it, you need to identify and challenge those beliefs. You can shift from the paradigm of believing to the paradigm of knowing by gathering evidence that supports your competence and success.
